Longwoods Log Homes is a custom log and timber builder based in Melbourne, Ontario, just outside of London. We are dedicated to traditional craftsmanship, quality materials, and thoughtful design. Since 2002, we have been designing and constructing fully scribed log homes, timber frame structures, and specialty builds across Ontario. Our work is rooted in precision, careful planning, and a respect for time-tested building methods that ensure tight-fitting log walls and efficient, high-performing structures.

From initial concept through construction, finishing, and long-term maintenance, we offer a complete approach to every project. Working primarily with high-quality white pine sourced from trusted Canadian suppliers, we build homes and structures that are durable, enduring, and designed to perform in Canada’s climate. Meet Jonathan Richards

Jonathan Richards is the owner and lead builder of Longwoods Log Homes. He has been building log homes since 2002 and brings decades of hands-on experience to every project. As a longstanding member of the International Log Builders’ Association, Jonathan remains actively connected to the broader log building community and committed to upholding high standards within the craft.
